3 months agoReally unique building. It wasn't busy at the time we went, so we wandered around looking at the murals and other decorations. My sister greatly enjoyed the beer she ordered - even though it was greenish! I had a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. It was very good. The server was friendly - she even took time to snap a picture for us. I would go here again if in the area.

5 months agoWe ordered a burger with garic sauce and cheddar cheese. Not much to choose from if you are looking for options that are not fried food. The burger was not worth $15.00 as it didn't even take up the whole roll. The tomato was barely red. We will not be going back! On a positive note, the rye beer was good.

6 months agoStayed at the inn right next door after a wedding and decided to have a drink or two. Ryan and Morgan were fantastic and very attentive. Had the GORRGEous Pale Ale which was phenomenal and the pretzel sticks as a snack. I definitely will be coming back next time I'm in the area.

Edited 9 months agoDecent atmosphere for a drink, and service, but I’d pass on the food other than the greasy but yummy pretzels. My companions liked the deep fried pickles as well but the burgers were not rated highly by any of the three people I was with and my salad was barely edible with not shaved raw Brussels (menu said “shaved”) that were too hard to bite into. “Funny” reply noted by owner/manager. Maybe sarcasm isn’t the smartest response to an honest but not great review of an essentially inedible salad a customer paid for. Definitely not going back! Reduced to one star since you can’t post a minus one. So funny!

2 years agoDinner last night Strange Design. Excellent food, drink and service. Had their wheat beer, tasty and crisp. Wings as appetizers were fat and flavorful. Was only going to have one but …We had their double battered chick sandwich, harvest salad with chick and one of their burger plates. Good atmosphere. Excellent service. Will be back.

2 years agoTried them when they first opened and wasn't impressed but when I won a gift card here recently I tried it again and was blown away. We went again within a week and enjoyed this meal even more than the last. They've definitely improved their menu and their beer options have something for everyone, which is hard to find at small breweries. The building is very cool too! We had the Pittsburgh Salad, Mac & Cheese, & Pork Nachos on special. We've also tried the poutine and burger and both were great.

3 years agoMy 1st time here was excellent! The renovations to the building are incredible. It has a long past and they do a great job nodding to it's history while still keeping the feel modern. The ambience is awesome and the staff are so great. Now it's my 2nd time and the beers, food etc are 2/2 great. I will come back here as often as possible.

4 years agoWe visited Strange Design 9/22. We stayed next door at the Oak Valley Inn so it was convenient. Vincent was our very attentive waiter! Vincent was also very informative about the rich history of the building and its transformation into the brewery. Our food was great and the beer was tasty. I would highly recommend!
